Useful Tenant Information
Should you decide you would like to rent a property through Mullen’s Property, we will require the following documentation prior to signing a lease agreement:
- Payment of a Security Deposit – usually the equivalent of one month’s rent
- A current bank reference
- A previous Landlord reference and phone contact
- An employer’s reference (if self employed a reference from your accountant or solicitor)
- Photo identification such as a passport or drivers licence
- A guarantor may be required in certain circumstances

Stamp Duty
If the annual rent exceeds €19,050 The Tenant must pay 1% Stamp Duty on the annual rent plus an additional €12.70 stamping charge to the revenue.
i.e. if the monthly rent for a property is €1,750, the annual rent totals €21,000.
1% = €210 plus the €12.70 stamp charge totals a one off payment of €222.70 which must be paid to the revenue.
